Initiated by Euroa Secondary students as a part of their student leadership program, this day intends to reconnect people with nature after the recent bushfires.
Audience: The general public, especially those fire affected.
Number of people: Approx. 30/40
We propose to have a small number of stations in which families and people of all ages have the opportunity to get creative and be together in the beautiful natural setting of the Arb.
It will enable people to gather and have important conversations/make social connections within a non-confrontational or strictly informative framework.
Workstations include:
- Simple puppet making with Kate Van Nooten.
With the intention of an interested group of children putting on a puppet show/telling a story based on big old trees with hollows as habitat at the winter solstice bonfire this year.
- Simple lantern making with Bryony, Suzie and Charlotte. Light in the dark and reflection encouraged at the winter solstice.
- Break away walks around the Arb. looking at and discussing landscape restoration, local plant and animal species.
- Jemma’s inaturalist walk
- Judith’s birdwatching
MUCH APPRECIATED IF YOU CAN RSVP TO Stephanie.Fry@education.vic.gov.au
