Planning wildlife landscapes and a look at planting tube stock v’s direct seeding. We’ll take a look at Agricultural weeds, Environmental weeds and the pest animals such as rabbits, foxes, feral cats, and deer.

The topics covered will be:

  • Foxes, rabbits, deer, cats and dogs as well as problem native wildlife such as kangaroos and wombats.
    Control methods for each species, dependent on density of pest animals.
  • Pest plants of the Strathbogie district, what are they, how to prioritise, best methods of treatment.
  • Biodiversity – how do you prioritise protecting biodiversity on your place?
    Remnant protection, big trees, native grasslands – value to native animals such as birds, bats, mammals as well as stock shade and shelter.
    Reveg methods – direct seeding vs hand planting.
