Taungurung Elder Aunty Jo Honeysett will begin our ‘Arb & Friends” day with a Welcome to Country in the very special welcome circle.

It’s such a special way to begin the day and connect with country.

BANDICOOTS AND BILBIES

For those keen to learn more about ‘Bandicoots and Bilbies’, join ecologist Nicki Munro for an in-person chat about this little creatures.

GRASSLAND TOURS

October is when the Grasslands are at their peak – in full flower.

Take one of the tours with Cathy Olive and Bronte Haines to learn about the species, bush tucker, the history of the Arb from a sheep paddock to an award winner.

There will be a morning and afternoon tour.

Ten thousand plants ready to go into the ground

Hi everyone, a few ups and downs in the nursery this year, but we still have plants ready, and more plants that will be ready by August.

Lots of requests are coming in for wildflowers. Very slow germination this year for wildflowers, but the babies are finally coming up! If you are chasing lilies, they will be ready by August.

if you are chasing wildflowers, drop by in September and October. We shall look forward to seeing you in the nursery.

Tidy National Award Winner

Australia’s 2023 Tidy Towns Sustainability Award Winners demonstrate regional Australia’s commitment to sustainability.

Keep Australia Beautiful has announced the winners of the 2023 Australian Tidy Towns Sustainability Awards.
The Western Australian finalist, Gascoyne Junction was announced as the overall winner of the 2023 Australian Tidy Towns Sustainability Awards, at an event hosted by the 2022 winner King Island, Tasmania on Friday 19 May 2023.


Running nationally since 1990, the Australian Sustainable Communities – Tidy Towns Awards have evolved to encompass projects and initiatives with a focus on environmentalsustainability and resource management to reflect a growing awareness of the importance of community-led environmental action. The Tidy Towns name has always been synonymous with community pride, cohesion and above all, community action. The awards reach beyond tourism to encourage, motivate and celebrate the sustainability achievements of grassroots rural and regional communities across Australia.


The finalist for Victoria, Euroa was awarded winner of the Resource Recovery and Waste Management, Environmental Sustainability – Energy and Environmental Sustainability Natural Environment Management categories, and joint winner with Gascoyne Junction, WA in the Environmental Communication and Engagement category.


  • The Australian Tidy Towns Sustainability Awards judging panel commended Euroa on its range of sustainability initiatives and community collaboration.
    “Recycling and waste avoidance education community events have built a community of confident recyclers ready to share their knowledge.

  • “Euroa’s microgrid initiative has succeeded because the proposal was localised to Euroand managed for local community benefit. It demonstrates how climate action has been well embraced by the Euroa community.”
    Val Southam, Chief Executive, Keep Australia Beautiful commended all the finalists in this year’s Awards.

Women’s Weaving Circle

In support of our local women and in recognition of Reconciliation Week, the Strathbogie Shire and Euroa Arboretum are offering a weaving workshops with Aunty Vic Morphy and Isobel Morphy Walsh. Both Aunty Vic and Isobel are highly accomplished weavers.

This workshop is an opportunity to connect with other women, develop a supportive network, build cultural awareness, to find a moment for calm and reflection and support your mental health.
